This is a happening! It is not a museum, it is not a temple. It is a place where you see so many interesting things together that never been together before. Built and designed by a true artist! More

Very cool place to visit if you like death and darkness. Very large contrast to White Temple. Nice gift shop full of leathers and skins. Beautiful art gallery, and jewellery too. More

I liked the idea that the artist who made Black Houses had a very distinct creativity and everything had to be so extreme, but it was a bit too dark for me More

This place is not easy to find, especially if you are given bad directions. Landmarks for getting there, go past Chiang Rai University and the Pepsi plant about 15 mins from downtown Chiang Rai. Note that they close from 12-1pm. But the adventure is worth it. Made up of many teak houses the artist displays both his creations of wood... More

This is a very different artistic journey. I would strongly advise taking a guide or find out what it is about before visiting. More

Totally bizarre and completely fascinating. We rented scooters to get out here which was a little bit hairy but definetly cheaper than a tour. I thought this place was actually a lot more visually stimulating than the much more popular white temple. More

One of the strangest "tourist attractions" I've ever visited. It is quite weird and worth a visit. More

I visited with a friend and on entering the main building was told we could not come in. A small party of Thai girls entered and were welcomed. We went outside and other Thais were wandering around. To say the people associated with the place were rude would be an understatement More
