My wife and I spent 5 days in the Usambara Mountains with a local guide named Said Salim. He operated Usambara Adventures (www.UsambaraAdventures.com) and we are beyond impressed with everything about our trip. We spent a total of 14 days in Tanzania and Said arranged all our transportation, lodging, meals, park fees on Safari, etc, etc. The highlight of our...

We did a three day walking tour with Friends of Usambara which was great. The scenery is spectacular and everyone we met was really friendly. It was a great way to see the place.

The W Usambaras, between Dar Es Salaam and Moshi, have a reputation for beauty and a lovely insight into African life - villages of enthusiastic children fascinated by the presence...

We spent 6 nights in the lovely Usambaras and soaked it up! Our days were spent relaxing, taking walks through the villages, going on a couple of organised hikes. For the organised hikes we recommend Friends of the Usambaras with an office in Lushoto town- our guide's name was Jackson and he was polite, kind, had good eyes for wildlife...
