Good density of wildlife. The 'Hippopool' was our favourite, since it was a more cloudy an colder day, almost al hippo's were out of the water, so very nice to observe them.

The rain was pelting down as we drove into lake Manyara National park. The vegetation is thick and lush, rain forest jungle, with monkeys jumping from tree to tree. It is exceptionally beautiful & very different to the grasslands in the other parks. As we drove further into the park, the jungle became less dense & the rain cleared. We... More

What a beautiful area. So many animals and everything was green. We liked everything about it. The elephants came so close to our car, that I closed the window....

Lake Manyara National Park will give you a pretty much clear idea of what's a Jungle and if you visit later on the Ngorongoro, you'll see the difference between a Jungle and an equatorial forest. Lake Manyara is full of Baboon as from the entrance, you'll get to see a nice Hypo Pool from a distance. A quite a nice... More

This was the second visit to lake Manyara. While it a good for bird lovers , the variety of other animals was limited due to the migration period. I advise travelers to plan well considering this aspect. I recommend the little hotel Panorama with a great higher view of the lake.

My least favorite of all the northern parks. It's got a nice, tropical feel to it. Lush vegitation with a hot, humid climate. Not many animals were seen on the 3 hour tour I took. If you are pressed for time, I would skip it.

We visited for two days in a row staying outside the park at Panorama Campsite. However, I think a day at the park is enough. Game viewing was okay. Not as easy as in nearby Tarangire because the park has a lot more wooded areas. There are also not too many game viewing roads that come close to the lakeshore.... More

Loved it. It was money worth spending. Wish we could have spent the night in the park as well, but at those prices, best we didn't. Managed to see most of the animals in the park, although, we didn't get to see the famous tree climbing lions. My favorite were the Pink Flamingo's. Absolutely beautiful. First time I was seeing... Do go to Lake Manyara if you can - it's a beautiful place. If you do, however, make sure that you only give it half a day. Well worth going to see the view, look at the hippos and perhaps glance some elephants through the trees.
