I have visited tis park five times and each time is different. The most recent was the best as we saw tree climbing lions, loads of elephants with calves, a leopard and loads of others. Really varies each visit but be patient. This is a lovely varied park. Love the new hippo viewing the platform.

We spent the best part of a day at Lake Manyara in transit from Tarangire national park to the crater. The park itself and its dense forest and plentiful wildlife is an interesting experience as is the mix of salt lake and fresh water. The surrounding area is worth a visit with an experienced guide - dense agriculture under irrigation... More

Our group could not be more fortunate! Maasai Magic Safaris took us to Lake Manyara National Park. I had mentioned to other clients a day before that this Park is small and we would not see much of anything. Manyara, like Arusha Park, is fairly densely forested, but a large lake covers most of the Park. There is a pool... More

The place was just what we needed to unwind after long trips on business in Tanzania, makes you imagine how life was back in the 70s when parks were considered part of our culture and not business.Good place to visit for the animals and know what real swahili sounds like.

Many years ago we had the fortune of being able to summit Kilimanjaro and for some rest and recuperation stayed close to Lake Manyara National Park. This first time it was a very short stay and only allowed a morning visit into the park. The place made a lasting impression on us since we were treated to the sight of... More

Lake Manyara National Park is small compared to Tanzania's other parks. At only 330 square km it fits neatly into the Great Rift Valley it is the real Cinderella of Tanzania parks. It is often overlooked and underrated but this gem was described by Ernest Hemingway as 'the loveliest place I have ever seen' when he set eyes on it.... More

Lake Manyara was the first day of our 7-day safari in Northern Tanzania and we were blown away. We saw just about all the animals we had expected to on our entire safari after a half-day in Lake Manyara - a pride of lions, herd of elephants, giraffe, zebra, baboons, gazelle, warthog, crowned cranes. The lake itself is mostly outside... More

Perhaps 3-4 hours is enough if you do not stay overnight in the park. Baboons and blue monkeys around - funny and interesting to see. Flamingos, a lot of storks and many birds by the lake but distant, a kilometer away. Beautiful landscapes, however.
