There were so many elephants here. We visited 3 parks in 3 days, and they were all great. This one had dozens of elephants which we were able to see up close. Some of the elephants walked within 5 feet of our vehicle. We also saw a giraffe, hundreds (maybe thousands) of flamingos, zebras, hippos, hundreds of baboons, blue monkeys,... More

This was a lovely serene place to drive through. The different types of landscape were home to different animals and it was lovely to see how they live in their environ. The animals were so graceful and it was a joy to see the creatures unconcerned with humans.

We only had an afternoon in this exquisite park. The birds were plenty and easy to identify although the large flock of flamingos were too far away to see. The elephants are as friendly as the Tanzanian people. There were any elephant families that peacefully crossed the road in front of our vehicle. Hakuna mutate = no problem. Next time... More

This was not the best of the game parks we went to on our 3 week trip to Africa, but it was a pleasant park. Highlights were bird sightings and lots of elephants. It was fun to see elephants in the forest, and moving in large groups. We also several baboon troops. Not a must-see, but worth a visit if... More

Devote a full day to look for tree climbing lions, plenty of beautiful migratory n resident birds at the lake, scores of Zebras Buffalo Giraffes, Wildebeest Baboons Warthogs Gazelles & Hippos playing in the lake. Spectacular Sunset time with the birds flying in large formations as if they are posing just for you as you click away with your cameras.... More

I visited nine parks throughout Kenya and Tanzania end of July/beginning of Aug, and this one was the worst by far. All we saw were a bunch of baboons and blue monkeys and a sprinkling of gazelles and zebras. The flamingos were about 2km away so we couldn't really see them even with binoculars. Not worth it. Time and money... More

First a tip: have your guide/driver bring you through the back entrance (our guide's suggestion, and we were glad he did) - not only do you drive the whole length of the park only once, there is less traffic going your way and you get the added experience of traveling through some villages on the way to the back entrance... Lake Manyara National Park is among the small National Park in Tanzania but it has a big secret about where is the HEART of this Park? Most of people their luck to visit only one side of this Park which is Northeast after entrance near the Hippo pool then drive back to the next destinations without notice that there are... More
