Quite happily surprised that Kaohsiung has become such a cultural destination! Bill T. Jones Arnie Zane Dance Company was in town and a MAN RAY exhibition will be at KMFA thru 25MAY!

I was able to walk through an life time exhibit for Liao Shu Ping. The exhibit was well prepared, and the collection of his art works was very impressive. I particularly like the strong tie that this museum has had with the artist himself. It took a strong relationship to have the artist's trust to display his life time work... More

I went here for the Miro exhibit, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but the upkeep of this museum seemed a bit run down. It isn't like may other museums that appear all modern and trendy. The rest of the museum is free, however. You only need to pay for the special exhibits. It is located in a peaceful side of town,... More

Similar to it's counterpart in Taipei, Kaohsiung Art Museum organized quite a lot of exhibitions for the general public. Some exhibitions were so exclusive (masterpieces by Modigliani, Mucha and original scripts of Michelangelo ) that we had to make a trip to Kaohsiung just for the sake of paying a visit to this Art Museum. The exhibits were well displayed,... More

From local photographers, City Art Competitions and more traditional stuff - it was all of very high standard. Worth a visit - think it was free too.

Diverse exhibitions and a great space. Was a central point of my visit from Taipei. Would recommend, if you are around.

Art from many different periods of Taiwan and Chinese culture. There are some amazing pieces here and some of the modern art is fantastic. Nearly empty if you go on a weekday during the middle of the day too and you could spend as much time at each piece as you want. Amazing gift shop as well!

The Fine Arts Museum cannot be beat in Kaohsiung, for the mainstay, regular exhibitions are free. The only time you pay is when you want to enjoy one of their visiting exhibitions, which have included Warhol and Dali in recent times. If you repeatedly visit, you might grow weary of the same exhibits, but as a traveler, you'll certainly find... More

Is a good place to learn chinese culture. The cabbage and the pork are a much see item. You can rent the audio to know more about the displayed items. The place is very crowded and is full of tourists.
