Black sand beach

A great beach for the kids to run around and pavilions for the adults to rest and enjoy the environment. Also a great picnic place.

At the start you will see many roadside stalls and seafood restaurants. But after a while it is just sand, sea, and benches. A nice place to take an afternoon nap.

I rent a bicycle and cycle from the port all the way to here. It's nice! There's strong wind and big waves. I did not stay long over day as its sunny day :)

Cijin island is a place to visit if you have nothing better to do in Kaohsiung, like us. Or you prefer slow and relaxing pace, quite the opposite of Taipei. The black sand beach at the seaside is unique, there is a scenic sight at the lighthouse right on top the hill, but the island itself is under developed. It... More

Highly recommend to rent a bicycle. This island offers some awesome views of Kaohsiung and the Pacific sunset was just beautiful. Request for a mini map with landmarks to visit.

Pleasant walk, but so much more to do in town, so just enjoy after lunch and then back to the gems in the city

We had hired the bike cycling along the seaside park. The road is open and vehicles on the road will not keep close to you. Lots of the seafood restaurants along the seaside.

This is a seaside park accessible by ferry at every 10-15 minutes interval, serves as a natural breakwater for the harbor, The ferry transport both passengers, bicycles & motorcycles. Serves as favorite pastime for locals & tourist to relax.

During our day trip to kaohsiung, we were debating whether to bring our 2yo boy to Cijin island which is highly recommended by our Taiwanese friends. Upon arrival, we were so pleased to have come here. Accessing to this island is very easy, we took a cab ride to the pier and a ferry ride and voila, we are at... More

Nothing much to do here except a cycling route. However, rainy weather will disrupt all plans as shelters are hard to come by and roads start getting flooded. Plan a half day visit here if you'd just like to relax at a quiet place.
