So beautiful. Along the river are comfortable walking paths suitable for dating couples or just friends hanging out.

The river is prettiest at night and if you go on weekday evenings, there's less people. I use to live in Kaohsiung and one of my favorite things to do was buy a bento and a drink from one of the nearby restaurants and have dinner on the bench while listening to outdoor music.

The cruise (take one in the newer boats - less noise) offers a spectacular view of the riverfront in Kaohsiung. I don't remember the length of the ride, but do not remember it being a long drawn-out affair. The boat ride takes you out to the harbor, and then back inland up the river for a fair bit. You will... Having read many reviews about this river, we expected much more. The river is quite nice for a peaceful stroll (pay attention to the various benches - some very creative ideas there), but we did not come across the many bars, cafes and restaurants we had read about. There are some al-fresco eating options close to where you board the... More

It was lovely to sit and enjoy a coffee in beautiful surrounds looking out over the river after a hectic day sightseeing, if you get there early enough you can a hire a boat or take the ferry along the river lit with beautiful fairy lights, loads of eateries and cafes in this area all with alfresco outdoor dining and... My wife and I had a lovely time walking and talking by the river. We also took a little cruise on one of the boats, it wasn't anything too exciting but it was fun! It's a great quiet night out.

It did look like a river and one wouldn't know it was man made. I did not exactly seek it out. It seemed to be everywhere meandering through Kaohsiung, so while it had been on my To-Do list, it turned out that I did not have to "Do' it. It just happened. As I was mostly on the Go, so... More

I think the Pearl River looks more spectacular than this Love River but in some aspects, the skyline and river scene appears similar to that of the Funan River in Chengdu. I stayed at 85 Sky Tower Hotel and I woke up early in the morning at about 5 am to explore this river. The lighting at the banks of... More

Took a "Love River" Night Cruise as part of a tour package. Nothing terribly exciting or beautiful, but the colourful and diverse lights from the many buildings that line up on either side of the river did make the short cruise (20-30 min?) a pleasant one. May be a nice place to stroll along the river side (pavements and all)... More

This is one of those delightful little in-jokes cranked up at a community planning meeting. How can we draw people into the city? I know, let's call our rather typical little river the Love River and then people will come to it. Unlike some other cities though, they forgot to put anything of note on it. All in all, what's...
