Breathtaking gorges, beautiful pagodas's..best way to experience would be either on a scooter or bicycle.. Stayed in Taroko National park instead of Hualien and that allowed us to break our visit to the national park twice in 2 days. Stayed at probably the best b&b I've personally ever stayed at ~ Li Wu Zuo Cun B&B !!!

best natural scenery with hilly rock formation marriaged with fast flowing stream creating beautiful scupture blended into misty surround. Trip on this journey over mountain can be a bit demanding to those who tends to feel car sick at time.

Natural beauty must-see. Driving on the east-west road through the gorge area is a stunning experience.

Taroko is famous for its spectacular mountains and marble canyons – recommend tianxiang, baiyan trail, water curtain cave, buolowan, shakadang trail, swallow grotto, eternal spring shrine, changchun temple and many more. Taroko bus (orange colour) departing from Hualien Railway/Bus Station. Easy to get around – grab bus schedule from bus station and Taroko map from Taroko National Park HQ. One... More

Taroko National Park was the highlight of my trip to Taiwan! I was very impressed to see how well maintained the park is - all the trails have excellent signage in English and Mandarin. We only spent two days and I wish we stayed longer - we loved all the hikes we did and we were lucky enough to find... More

Don't get guided tours for 5 hours. It's not enough, as drive from Hualien is 1 hour at least. We had 8 hours tour, and it's just about OK.
