truly a beautiful location. Green trees, gurgling streams, nice walks, views of ocean, waterfalls and caves; hot springs. A place to go with family and friends and relax

Excellent location. The walk was fairly easy with no steep slopes. But u still need to be careful and alert as you will be walking along the roadside with cars and looking down the gorge. Just make sure u abide with the safety regulations I.e. do not cross over the red lines.

Loved the scenery, absolute breathtaking views when driving through by rental car from Taichung to Hualien. Hiking trails seemed to be very busy with busloads of tourists....spoilt it a bit for us. Nature is stunning though!

high cliffs, white marble riverbed, gushing water, photo ops all over the place but this is not an undiscovered place so there are lots of tourists (mostly Asian) and busses. Still you should not miss this park if you are in Taiwan.

We did an overnight trip, taking the two-hour train from Taipei. We just did the Swallow Gorge and the Baiyang Trailk hike. The views in the gorge and on the trail are well worth the trip. The gorge is a narrow defile with shear wall rising over 2000 feet. Wow. The trail hike took about 45 minutes, but we had... More

Many of the attractions, be they natural or cultural are spread out over a very large area. This is particularly so in the Tarako National Park, the Ocean Drive, the Fishing Villages, the Ching Shui Cliffs, Liyu Lake and the Chishingtan Beach and the various bicycle tracks. Getting there on limited time will need the help of a local knowledgeable... More
