Our taxi driver brought us to this location while she took her lunch break. It appeared to be a lunch stop for many taxi drivers as well. There are a few eateries in this place. The accommodation is more basic than Silk Palace Hotel but the price is more reasonable. We had our lunch break at the Youth Activity Centre and the food was delicious and cheap.

The walks around Tiansiang are wonderful. Do the Bai-yang trail. It is about a 3 hour slow walk to some nice waterfalls.

Tienhsiang is within the Taroko Gorge and contains a post office, souvenior shop which accepts visa and mastercard payments (very convenient). It is also a rest stop for taxis, tour buses, and private motor vehicles. There is also a small resort at Tienhsiang and of course there is the famous temple where you need to climb a mountain of stairs... More
