Natural beautiful rocky mountains and valleys with serene surroundings. Some changes since my last visit 37 years ago. Beware of falling rocks if you walk along walkways but helmets are provided, on the whole quite safe. Would recommend if you are nature lovers.

It's a wonderful place to go if you visit Taiwan, amazing sights, clear blue water, can take easy or difficult hiking trails. There are some expensive hotels to stay at or hostel type of places at some churches.

Me and my wife spent 4 days in Taiwan. 1 day is too short to discover all wonders of this myrical gorge, but is possible to see main attractions. We bought fast train Puyuma tickets evening before for the earliest train. In Hualien we found red bus station building and bought day tickets. Then we took bus ride to the last... More

Very beautiful scenery and well worth a visit. There are several different trails to walk on - you can easily spend a couple of days here. Avoid the weekends if you can

great for those who like to trek and enjoy the view of nature. Advisable to visit during colder months. Bring a bottle of water and wear comfortable shoes.

This place is quite amazing.. As the other reviewer said, it feels quite humbling to look down and be able to see the naturally formed hills and boulders with stream of water. When walking around the gorge, we had to wear helmets for safety.

Taroko is very gorgeous. Several hiking trails. For some more "advanced" you have to register in advance and have some Taiwanese to be your guarantee. Otherwise you can use some agencies and pay them for this kind of service. After you arrive and you wanna do this registered hike, you have to go to the police station near the Visitors... More

Beautiful gorge as seen from the Swallow's Grotto! Short walk from one part of the highway to another, but it's safe cause there's a proper walkway!
