A museum of items in a hot, sticky and dusty town. There is clearly no facility nor interest to "clean the family silver" here...but then does that really matter? Their main objective at the end of your tour is to get you into the precious gem store located on site. However...they are not that pushy so do not be put... More

This free 'museum' had poor presentation of 'exhibits' despite the owner being wealthy. While free, the included shops had every impression of being a tourist trap, although in fairness I was nit pressured to buy any precious stones.

There is no doubt of the value of the objects. When I return to UK I will upload some pics. However there are too many articles for too tiny a space and many of them would benefit from an explanation. I also was followed around by an older man who hinted that a donation would be acceptable. They divide what... More

The Museum is actually the combination of different collections of the owner who is a very rich antiques dealer. He is so generous that makes the place requires no entry fee and no tip. The excibit is plentiful but unfortunately lack of description. The staffs are extremely friendly and polite.

Using old men to greet you is clever because elderly gentlemen just seem so much more trustworthy...and I wouldn't accuse the one who led/trailed us around as being a conman but he was pretty wily and would have had you part with your cash IF you had been suckered in to buying. That said, it's worth going in for a... More

It has a lot of junk out of the colonial times and even younger. It's not organized or researched at all, but simply a pile up of unused items. Yes it gives you a kind of indication how life could have been in the past. After that is the shop (jewelery items).

No need to buy anything as it's far too expensive. But meander amidst many artifacts and the gems for sale. This will give you a fair idea what to pay from here on ... where your guide takes you to buy that corn blue sapphire!
