Took eight to nine hours to complete the hike via the gentler route. View at the top is really amazing you'll get to see a beautiful crater lake which sadly we're not allowed to go further down to. Terrain is mad crazy so make sure you're in good footwear made for hiking. Bring plenty of foot, water and a deep... More

Fun hike that faces easy to difficult terrain. Footing can be slippery at points and trail narrow at times. Really crowded trail when we went! Standing in line to hike at times isn't my thing, but still a fun hike. It was not crowded on the way up because we hit it really early in the morning, but lots of... More

I did the hike in January, and it was amazing. Parts were pretty difficult so you may need trekking poles or crampons. The views from the top are stunning, but be sure to leave really early (before sunrise) as you'll be sharing the views with hundreds of your closest friends if you don't. More

My friend and I hiked this, along the Seongpanak trail. A beautiful hike but it can be pretty arduous especially if you aren't prepared. Before you go up, make sure you are wearing the right shoes (the kind that protects your ankles), trekking poles, food and plenty of water. The trail is decent for me during the first half, but... This post is about logistics and what to expect from the hike. My partner and I hit Hallasan around 6:45 in the morning on a Saturday to avoid the crowds. We drove to Seongpanak parking lot (free and was filling up quickly. A tour bus with dozens of hikers was already there) which was about a 30-minute drive from Seogwipo.... More

Wonderful hikes, but even the easiest ones can be long with some steeper sections. Bring lots of water. The hikes are popular and can be crowded, even in the off-season. More

The trek and the views from the mountain were beautiful and I am glad to have spent some time there but I think I may have some had some disillusions/overly high expectations caused in part by Jeju Islands (with Mt. Halla as one of the focal attractions) recent media attention created by its addition to the 'new 7 natural wonders... More

A nice panorama, 'enchanted forest' atmosphere, but very many people. Also be prepared for quite a bit of a walk. More
