Lark Street has always been a favorite place for me to visit while in Albany. It's better in the summer because you can stroll the sidewalks and visit the different shops and restaurants.

I have walked Lark St several times, and there is always something to find or do. There are some great places to eat as well as some great bars. The only bad thing I can say late at night you can run into some problems so try to get things done before 1 am.

This area of the city attempts to be like 6th Street in Austin, TX. It is a mammoth stretch for that to happen however. The area on festival days is fine and as for the rest of the time trendy eating establishment and lounges fall short of what one might desire. It is a fine area yet in the evening... More

This street has so many different restaurants and differs kind of stores that makes it unique. They always have something going on in that street. Parking there is a problem. I always park my car at the Washington Park and walk to Lark street. It is close and convenient. I recommend this place for you to spend a afternoon taking... More

The problem with Lark street is Lark street. I can never walk done that street without the attempt to be hustled and getting asked for money. I don't lend money to anyone. I feel bad for the honest, good, and hard working shop keepers becuse this area really sucks. I suggest that if you walk Lark street, do it during the... More

My daughter lived just one block away from Lark St. so I visited it often. It's filled with great restaurants, bars and boutiques and quaint, little shops. If you are in Albany, this is a must see.

From what we saw as we drove down Lark St. was that it is not a great area to stop and pass the time. It's kind of run down and sort of scary. There's nothing much to commend it. Some interesting houses but so many are run down and just a few painted bright colors but fading. It looks like... More

Funky. Varied restaurants, pubs, vintage clothing store, etc.. The Waldorf Tuxedo shop seems out of place, but it is an excellent store with a family staff. The Lark Street Festival in the fall attracts hundreds of people; they close the street and it is great fun for shopping and people watching. Funky and fun.
