My daughter and I were visiting Albany from overseas and met up with a few family members to tour areas where our families had lived and worked. We spent a lovely afternoon walking along Lark Street, looking at the shops and the church where my in laws were married. There was an exceptionally nice little shop that we stopped to... More

Bustling with restaurants, this small "main street" is full of life at just about all hours. It is filled with excellent small restaurants that give the street great character.

Lark Street is Lark Street! Just about whatever you want can be found in this funky part of Albany. The outdoor patio in the midst of downtown is great for meeting friends or just meeting people.

Lark Street is a nice collection of restaurants and bars with something for almost everyone. A stroll of 5 blocks or so will give you plenty of choices. I'd say the Wine Bar and Bistro is easily the best of them. There are several pizza places including Noho, which is pretty good, and Soho which isn't. Beware of confusion.

Lark is a great place to go with friends for dinner and drinks or just to walk around and check out some stores. The cobble stone streets are picturesque.

Too many fights, WAY TOO MUCH TRAFFIC, people walking back and forth across the streets and there are cabs EVERYWHERE!! On the sidewalk, triple parked in lines down the street, circling like buzzards doing donuts in the middle of madison. And the local police do nothing

This is the street where you will find the few local shops In albany. Cafés can be found here, bars, restaurants, and some art galleries. Be sure to check out the streets around it as they are filled with beautiful and historic row homes.

Honestly, in Albany there is not much to do. Wandering around the Lark Street would be one of the few alternatives. There are many local shops and a few cafes to hang around. I especially appreciate a wine shop of which I forgot the name.
