Lovely park

Designed by same person who did New York city's Central Park. Lovely plantings and specimen trees. Beautiful lake. Tulip fest in May with zillions of tulips. Not to be missed.

The Tulip Festival is great fun, but really it's more fun to visit just before or after the festival when the tulips are blooming and there are less crowds. It's a beautiful park - designed by Olmstead I think - and worth wandering. The boat house, the statues... it's all more enjoyable when there's not a festival going on -... More

We have visited the park several times over the years. It is a wonderful place for a walk or run during the warmer months. Love the holiday light display in the winter. We always feel safe and comfortable!

We didn't spend a lot of time in the park since the weather was not great; however, there is plenty to do in the nice weather from sports, a lake, biking, etc. It must be pretty when they have their Tulip Festival each spring but will have to go back to see that. There is on the street pay parking... More

The park hosts a number of musical and cultural events from spring through fall but my absolute most favorite is the annual Tulip Festival held every year on Mother's Day to honor Albany's Dutch heritage. The park is ablaze with almost 200,000 tulips planted by the city garden crew. There is music, food, crafts and hundreds of people taking pictures... More

This park has a spectacular tulip display early every May. The park is 81 acres and dates back to the 1600's.

Washington Park is most beautiful when the tulips are blossoming, hence Tulip Fest every Mother's Day weekend. Festivals occur regularly in the warm months and its proximity to Lark Street is great if you work up and appetite wandering around. That being said, don't do too much wandering alone after dark. As a former resident of that neighborhood, I can... More

Great as a public event venue, walking, jogging, picnic with family, read a book under the shade of a tree, people watch, meet friends for lunch at park bench...etc.

This is an historic park in an older part of Albany. The park is circled by brownstones and was designed by the guy who designed Central Park in NYC. If you can get here for the Tulip Festival, I would highly recommend it as the flowers add a whole different level of enjoyment. They do great plays in the summertime... More

Washington Park is a gem in the heart of Albany, New York. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead (who also designed Central Park in NYC and the Emerald Necklace in Boston), Washington Park is a wonderful retreat into nature at any time of year. It's a popular dog walking spot; in the summer is the site for pick up volleyball games,... More
