This site hasto be seen and experienced! Stunning views from the top on normal days, but we went up during sandstorms in neighbouring countries, so visibility was not that good. What a fascinating part of history and visiting here, makes you want to read up more now. More

The history of the different folks that have lived here is fascinating. I had a private guide that took me around many places in Israel and told me this was a must see. The tunnel below the top area is wonderful. It is hard to believe it was built so long ago and there is STILL water here! It is... More

We visited Megiddo straight from the airport, just after the site opened. There were no other visitors: the site was open and arid, shaded by the palm trees standing guard over the tiers of ancient walls. I was epecially impressed by the Canaanite altar and the long access tunnel to the water source. Years ago my mother was similarly impressed... More

The "Megiddo Hill" sounds "Har Megiddo" in Hebrew. Sounds familiar? Of course, because this is the place, where it is believed the ARMAGEDDON will take place! So prepare your imagination :) The place itself is very interesting! (even that not that impressive - no temples, no statues, almost nothing but excavations...) Go to the visitors center - it has a... More

I found Megiddo a facinating place with great views of the valley of Armageddon (Har Megedon). Kids will love going down into the water tunnel that was dug to give water inside the city walls. More

Went to Meggiddo from Tiberias as I love seeing ruins but it appeared as most of the ruins here were just some rocks. I believe that a good amount of the relevant items were taken by a University of Chicago excavation. The sign and illustrations were a little worn and some were not there at all. They did have the... Visited Megido (again) yesterday, with our two kids and some guests. Don't expect anything the size of Mesa Verde - Israeli NP's are small, or should I say compact. That also means that in 2-3 hours tops, you can really explore and experience this place. Take half an hour for the visitors center and ask them to show you the... More
