It is actually Hero's Monument in english. It was built to honor the soldiers killed the battle against the allied forces.who wanted to occupy Surabaya in1945. It is about 40 meters in height. Inside the Monument there are 3 mesuems displaying pictures of the battles which they fought. Around it is a beautiful garden.

Tugu Pahlawan means Hero Monument. Since this is the landmark of Surabaya you might want to visit it. When we were there traffic was really bad. You definitely must take a taxi there, not only driving is a challenge but parking is next to impossible.

The weather is hot in the outside so I advise you to wear sun block because Surabaya is really hot. Inside the museum the facilities are not properly treated. However, is the right place to visit for Indonesia's history lover because it serves a lot of historical story.
