I went there and tried to get in but it was closed I guess, too bad! Surrounding area is so busy, it's near the train station and Atom Market. We also visited the Cathedral in the downtown which is the holy virgin Mary near it.

We saw this monument like thousand times but only visited twice. Let's get ready for more visitors by printing more brochures, build canopy access to avoid rain and sun burn and organize a traditional show for tourist !

Really like this park, very quiet but so much history. Worth a look a lot of old war machinery from the days of the fight for independence

I was visiting this monument when I accompany my friend coming from Germany. I think the English communication skill of the Tugu Pahlawan Staff must be more fluently, and my friend said the translation English scripts in the monument was too bad. He said it was first grade English when he read the translation of the Bung Tomo speech. Unfortunately... More

I don't know actually the history of this place but I wasn't that impressed by it's night view to come back and check it during the day.

This monument is best visited at night when it is lit up. The wall of brass bas reliefs depicts meaningful scenes of the war of independence. For example, the Indonesian troops went into battle with sharpened bamboo sticks against Western submachine guns. And the depiction of the role of women in the war held my interest. If you're into history, this is one place you must visit in Surabaya. Located in the centre, its really easy to reach. Very clean, and you will definetely enjoy it!
