My first impressive, not comfort enough, poor foot steps, no rest area, little bit smelly (birds poop). But I must apoint my thumb as I saw alot animals inside. Some cages with to many animals inside (monkey, deer, pelican, etc). Over all my daughter loved it and she asked me to go there again and again. My opinion, for family... More

I visited this zoo on the last day of my Surabaya trip.Although there are quite a lot bad comments on this zoo, I still want to take a look at the Komodo Dragon(big lizard). The entrance fee is around 1.3us dollar ,and the area is quite large .Animals are not well kept especially the bears and the tigers are thin... More

Ok..so my friends force me to see this place with them. Once inside, I could not help feeling sorry for the animals. Really... the condition is very bad, most of the animal does not look healthy. Please make some improvement.

Lots of tree, but very nice and cool during summer. The animal seems to be in the poor condition. Definitely can be improved.

This is the worst you that i've ever been to. I was looking for a nice morning walk around some animal sanctuaries, just to find ill looking animals in a very dirty pen. The animals are sick and very malnourished. Thank god the government closed it down, for the animal's sake.

This zoo is great and could be a beautiful zoo if there was proper maintenance. 15.000rup for a ticket is very cheap, they should raise prices in order to pay better maintenance. With the exception of elephants that were chained by the 4 feet, I can not say I saw animals suffering. The cages and open spaces are very dirty... More

Me and my boyfried visited this zoo whilst in Surabaya for a day waiting for a flight. We had read some of the reviews featured on here but decided to take a look for ourselves as there is little else to do in the City. We paid 15.000rp to enter, (little more than £1). My expectations after reading the reviews... More

Go to this zoo expecting to see something of Western Tourist attraction standard and you will be bitterly disappointed. This is a big zoo but there seems to be absolutely nothing invested in maintenance or housekeeping. There seemed to be rubbish everywhere. This is a shame as there is very little else to see or do in Surabaya. The 'aquarium'... More

It's one of the biggest Zoo in SOuth East Asia, but many issues of bad maintenance and low care for the animal, this could see from example of Pelican cage, where I saw hundreds of them put in one cage and the smell was very fishy. There also many spots have very low maintenance. Some attractions are not available anymore.... More
