Pity to visit

Zoo wasn't look after properly, sadly to see some animals wasn't healthy and so skinny, very smelly and public facilities is needing more concern. Plants was good looked after.

This place is so not well-maintained. Too bad, since actually it has a very good potential. Located in the city centre, it could attract many visitors.

very saddening to see all the animals are not well taken care of, the facilities are very poorly maintained, malnutritioned animals if lucky enough to survive but most cages are empty. the management need to step it up and take responsibilities.

KBS - Kebun Binatang Surabaya (Surabaya Zoo) has been around for a very long time in Surabaya. But sadly, the zoo is not very well maintained. Lots of the animal cages are small & dirty, and the animals don't look happy. The visitor's toilets are also dirty. Only a few animals like orang utan and monkeys are lucky enough to... More

Hello from KBS (Kebun Binatang Surabaya) zoo in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Here is very pleasant, we can see the cute animals here. This place is perfect to invite children to play and recognize different kinds of animals.

This the biggest zoo I ever known. Have so many animals. But I dont know why, this zoo looks like not so interesting for people to come. In front of this place you will find the sculpture of the Shark and Crocodile as the icon of Surabaya city. Many people come to take photo with this icon. www.AFIETADI.web.id

In hope my admission ticket money goes to the well-being of the animals I visit them more than once. Although it is just very depressing seeing skinny sick-like animals throughout the zoo. The pungent smell goes throughout the zoo and the animals look so sad being there. It is not a good experience at all to see animals just waiting... More

Went to the Surabaya Zoo as it was in close proximity to where I stayed. The zoo needs a lot of support for improvement. Felt sad at the current state of the zoo and the animals. They looked hungry and the enclosures needed some upgrading.
