I am hopeless at the manual crafts and so creating a piece of jewellery with help from Ketut in under three hours was quite an achievement. I am proud to wear my pedant and enjoy telling people that I made it. I undertook the experience with my two 20+ daughters who really enjoyed the experience. One made two rings and... More

I regularly take groups of women to Bali and every year we attend a silver smith class at Studio Perak and are amazed and the beautiful pendants and earrings that can be made in such a short period of time. You do all the work yourself, with guidance, but it is your design. I have to say there is a... More

Ketut is an excellent and patient teacher - I never thought in just three hours I would be able to produce 2 such beautiful pieces of jewellery that I am proud to wear and enjoy saying "I made it" when asked where I bought them well worth the fee - 5 grams of silver included and this covered all the... This was quite good fun, I was left to do all the work (bar using gas) on my own, with pointers and guidance at each point. In the short space of 3 hours I was very impressed at going from a sheet of silver to a finished piece. A piece that is wearable / giftable The host was very helpful... More

I did this course while in Ubud. Although I love the ring I made, the process itself was not that pleasant. Along with other course attendees I found the tutor to be impatient and confusing to understand (not his English). An outline of the process before we started would have been helpful. No instruction was given on how to use... More

Something different to do and all I can say the guy who assists has the patience of a saint..... proper workshop with help offered at any stage... and I did get stuck a few times as silver is not the easiest of metals handle.... made 4 pendants and though slightly over the 5grams of silver allocated they dont charge alot... Booked a silver making course one day ahead of time. I was not disappointed at all. You receive 5 g of silver to work with, which is enough to make a small to medium sized pendant depending on your design. I made a Balinese OM and a small ring out of wire and both came in to just over 5g.... More

My friend and I did this course one morning while in Ubud. We were really excited and ended up quite disappointed. The course fee of 350,000 IDR includes 5grams of silver, however this was not premeasured and no guidance was given to approximately how much 5 grams was and as a result both of us used almost 5grams more than... It's my second time at Studio Perak and I always enjoy my time. The teachers are helpful but they let you do your thing (which is great I think!) and in 3 hours class you have enough time to make a bracelet, a ring and a necklace pendant!

Arriving 5 minutes late and finding myself as the only domestic participant a bit discourage me at the beginning. Plus the fact rhat the girls at the store seems to be surprised that I had not any design to copy by the time I arrived sure made me worry at the beginning. But as soon as Ketut gave me the... More
