After considering other batik classes in Ubud, I chose Widya based on the TA reviews and I am so glad I did! The whole experience was very organized and geared towards helping you learn the art. Widya picked me up at my home stay and brought me to the workshop, where many of his relatives are there to welcome and... More

My daughter and I did the batik class today and we both left with lovely batiks and a great experience. Widya picked us up and took us back to our hotel, helped us whenever we needed it and left us to our own creativity when we wanted. We each bought another original batik that Widya made, one of which partially... More

I did a one day workshop with widya at his studio in Ubud and came out of it with a beautiful hand made batik wall hanging. I designed it, but could not have made it half as intricate without widya's help! he really wants you to come out of the experience with an awesome piece of Bali to take home... More

Taking part in this workshop at Widya's Batik Studio was a highlight of our stay in Bali. Even though we booked late the day before, Widya sent a confirmation email immediately and had everything organised for us the next morning. There were just the four of us taking the class and that was an ideal size (although they can easily... More

I had a really great time! the class was really fun, and I made a really beautiful batik! I recommend this to anyone interested in getting creative and wanting to have a nice keepsake from their trip to bali! The instruction was very detailed and had a lot of free rein to create whatever design I liked! thank you for... More

Amazing to see how these stunning fabrics are made. Such primitive equipment, old cycle wheels and poor lighting. I will never complain about the prices of these textiles again, after seeing the work that is put into making this lovely work.

I had done some batiking in my younger years at school but it was nothing like the intricacy of what I saw here. This is a very time consuming art with some amazing outcomes to produce some stunning works of art.

I really enjoyed learning how to make Batik and have a new admiration for the really well made stuff. The teacher helped so the process never felt too difficult or overwhelming, and although I don't think I created a master piece, I am very happy I learned how to do it.

Very patient teachers. If you like fabric arts and batiks, this a really wonderful way to learn first hand how to paint with hot wax and then dyes to create your own batik. Fun way to learn a new art . Seeing my own amateur efforts, makes me really appreciate the masterful batiks created here in Bali. Some of his... More
