Picked up from Ubud hotel 3:30, drive to meet others in mid rice fields where chefs husband gave us chat about life in the paddys, rice cropping family ownership which was interesting. Then to the family home in Laplapan village where Puspa talked about family life in their world, the home structure before taking us to the 'kitchen'. First thing,... More

The whole morning shared with Puspa, her husband and staff was totally a unique experience. The food amazing, the humour infectious and the courtesy outstanding. I rely on Trip Advisor for travel and I could not recommend a better whole experience. Five star. Unreal value for money. The best in Bali and beautiful Ubud.

This was the best outing we have had in bali. The staff were great all with personality. We enjoyed the market as it made for some excellent photos. The cooking was great fun and although we had a little help from the staff the feast we made was one of the best meals we have had here. 5 stars.

This is a great way to embrace the local culture and be part of it. We were collected from our hotel by the very likeable and knowledgeable Madi who first took us to the rice fields where he explained in detail whilst keeping us all engaged ( Ages 13/ 17/ 21 plus us ) the rice farming and harvesting process... Great morning learning about Balinese life and culture. Food was delicious. Easy pickup from the hotel. The morning starts at the wet market with Puspas husband who is a funny character. Then to their home for an intro to Balinese home culture followed by about three hours of cooking, conversation and a delicious lunch of 13 courses.

This is a MUST-DO when you visit Bali! My boyfriend I were picked up at our homestay right on time. We were worried they would be able to find the place because it was a bit hidden but sure enough, they were there to take us to see their rice fields. I actually live in Japan in the middle of... We started off by visiting the markets where we could see the different types of fruit, veg, herbs and spices which bali has to offer. Wayan, our guide was great and explained in detail what different ingredients are used for when cooking a balinese dish. The markets were a great experience and very smelly! After this we visited the rice fields which... More

My husband and I took the cooking class with Aunty Puspa. What a great day! From the tour through the markets with Wayan and the other drivers, through the rice fields and a stop there to learn about them, then on to Puspa and Wayan's family compound. They were wonderful hosts who made it a fantastic experience (along with their... More

We took part in the afternoon cooking class and it was just awesome. At first we gathered next to a rice field and were told everything about growing rice which was very interesting. I guess if you take part in the morning class you will actually go to the market as promised on their website but this class might be... More
