Our class began at the local market in Ubud where we were introduced to many of the fresh vegetables and spices we would be using in our dishes. Then we were transported to a rice paddy where the growing of rice and it's importance in Balinese culture was explained to us. Finally it was time to get down to work.... More

We're picked up at 8 from our ubud retreat and after meeting others taken through the markets to have all the ingredients explained. Would loved to have bought some buy unsure about bringing them back through customs. Next was off to the paddy fields for a lesson on how they are farmed which was great. The cooking came after that... More

My husband and I had a really fun day learning to cook some Indonesian food. Everything we made would be easy enough to make again at home. We really enjoyed the staff as they were entertaining and welcoming. The home where you cook is peaceful and is a relaxing place to have your lunch. I would highly recommend the cooking... More

This class runs like clockwork. Puspa has perfected the balance between instruction, cooking and relaxation, making this activity enjoyable for everyone regardless of cooking experience. "Now we are all family for one night!" she told our group, and that's what it felt like. This was hands down the best activity during our 2-week stay in Bali.

The entire day was amazing from the traditional markets to the kitchen and beautiful home of Puspa. I had sometime in Bali on my own and this was the best decision I made. Met a lot of other lovely travelers and learnt traditional recipes that I can take home with me. Puspa is quite the host and I love her... More

Highly recommend Paon Bali Cooking School, had the best day! Started out at 8am with free pick up from our Ubud hotel, then after collecting a couple others, we headed to the Ubud markets where our guide showed us the local produce - the markets were a bit of a shock to the system, so gratefully we didnt spend a... I don't enjoy cooking, but i accompanied a friend, and i loved the experience. The instructor was terrific and entertaining, the activity was done in a way that doesn't make you feel totally useless, and the food at the end was delicious. (Did I really cook that?!). One of the highlights of our stay in Ubud.

this has to be one of the most hands on I've come too in bali. I have to say for the price it beats casa Luna hands down. The only downfall was the pick up service. Being picked up was okay but the driver cong back dropped me off in town with the mutual agreement he would contact my resort... More

Despite some initial confusion that was NOT the fault of the cooking school, but that of the intermediary travel agency, the school graciously accommodated us the next day. In fact, we were initially supposed to do the class in the morning, but ended up doing the evening class, which my wife and I agreed was likely better. We were picked... More
