My mom and I took a class at Sari Api around New Years and it was such an amazing experience. We learned different techniques of making ceramics, all of which were fun and informative. We had a free hand at making our own designs and chose colors but since we weren't in Bali anymore when the ceramics were ready (takes... More

She does very creative pieces with very high quality. I am not sure how competitive the prices are, but believe you pay a nominal premium for orignality

My teenage daughter and I recently spent a wonderful afternoon at Sari Api Ceramic Studio near Ubud with ceramic artist Suzan. I had never used a potters wheel before and my daughter had only used one once. Suzan was warm and welcoming and a patient teacher generous with her time. The studio is as you would hope, it features everything... More

I booked a half day workshop with Sari Api and loved it. Suzan is a great teacher and her studio is a lovely place to spend the morning, learning how to make cups and bowls. We did one piece by hand and a couple on the wheel and got to pick glazes for our creations. If you're looking for something... More

It was a really fun and relaxing morning. We were all trying it for the first time and we all enjoyed it, even my husband who was just looking on. We will be back for more! The place was easy to find, we went by taxi and returned to central Ubud walking, all down hill. Suzan is a lovely person,... More

The class that my boyfriend and I did with Suzanne in December this year was the best thing that we did while in Ubud. Our three hour class was run out of Suzanne's studio, behind her home in a small village about 15-20 minutes just outside of Ubud (an approx AUD$7 taxi). Neither of us have any experience working with... More

My husband and I went to Sari Api while on our honeymoon. It was such an awesome creative outlet and a welcome change from our more touristy endeavors. The studio is a little off-the-beaten path, and the ride there through rice paddies was lovely. It was such a tranquil setting - the perfect place to learn this calming and meditative... More

Girlfriend and I attended a class. I had never done pottery, so the guy was teaching me all about it. On the other hand my gf is quite competent and received little advice/help since the guy could see she knew what she was doing. At the end he says it's $80 (aus) (whatever that is in rupee, I'm from aus... More

Dear Tim B. I am so sorry you had such a terrible experience at Sari Api Studio! As you know, there are always 2 sides to each story. Here is mine: We could not send your pieces to you because you wrote your email address illegibly (I asked 5 people and they all read it the same way as me),... More

I had the pleasure of going to the Sari Api studio several years ago with my Daughter Gaia. She was 9 at the time and we had so much fun working with clay and making little bowls and tiles. I loved seeing how creative she was. I have Gaia for her summer holiday and I am planning to take her... More

Thanks to Sari Api Ceramics Studio, we were able to reignite our creative flames once more! As newbies to the ceramic scene, both Suzan and Agus were complete professionals in teaching us & helping us create pieces we can be proud of! A fabulous way to spend our time in Ubud, thanks! - Kerri & Lauren.
