Bali Zoo is one of a kind. There is this experience you can participate to become a Mahout for a day. Literally meaning you are close with elephant and becoming one of their care. I began with an outdoor breakfast set in a garden and then started to work with the guide to be closed with the gentle giant. It... More

Don't be mistaken with Bali Safari which using vehicle for wandering the place. Bali Zoo is traditional style kind of zoo, similar with Ragunan Zoo in where you walk with your feet to see the animal, but of course managed more professional and much much much cleaner. I bought an offer of IDR 99k (i think normal price around IDR... More

Expected a larger variety of animals but was disappointed. Wheel chair access very bad. Went mainly to handle small animals which we enjoyed

Organise a package from where you are staying that includes pick up, riding the elephant, feeding nursery animals, lunch and drop off. Love the elephants and the food here is fantastic!!!

Bali zoo is a lot smaller than I had thought. After visiting the Bird Park- I had high expectations for the zoo. The ride was very bumpy and there was nothing to look at.... More

The zoo was average. But, not the elephant ride. Below our expectation. And the tickets were so expensive.

Whilst not as animal-friendly as zoos of the western world this was thankfully better than thought it would be. Not a large zoo but quite a variety of animals and several opportunities to interact with the animals. Pretty expensive really so I hope that money does go on animal care
