This land of the famous Royal Bengal Tiger is looking at dark days ahead. The inability of the local administration in educating local villagers, has lead to a gradual decrease in the number of tigers. Poaching too adds to the problem. The local law enforcement authorities are ill-equipped with age-old infrastructure. Tourism facilities are also extremely basic. Wonder why this... more

I visited Sunderbans in the middle of May 2009. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and went there from Kolkata. we booked our trip through "Sunderban tiger camp". Me and my friends went on a 24 hour boat trip around the Sunderbans during the Winter of 2002. The trip was memorable with absolute clear skies.
