A must-see in Varanasi. Always has a wonderful display in the gallery and often has events and open house parties. The owners are welcoming and very knowledgable and can help with seeing other parts of the city as well.

Kriti Gallery is a great place to view contemporary artwork while visiting Banaras. The gallery is very peaceful and there is an area to purchase a variety of handicrafts. The gallery is run by very nice people who are always excited to see new faces.

While staying in Banaras I was fortunate to find Kriti gallery. There was a beautiful and unassuming show of contemporary photographer Fazal Sheikh, and evidence of great care on the part of the owners in the sanctuary of calm and beauty within the bustle of Banaras. Highly recommended and worth a visit! There are lovely books from some of the... More

Really surprised and pleased to find a contemporary art gallery like Kriti in a city like Varanasi, which is so steeped in tradition and history. The recent show of photographs by Fazal Sheikh was powerful and haunting. The gallery program is photography-focused, but there is also a small side gallery which has publications and objects made by artisans around India... More

My partner an I had an amazing time a Kriti. We had a residency for the month of December. The staff are amazing! Excellent food and even better connections to the Varanasi community. We were able to produce our project very effectively. And everyone, residence and staff, were amazing to talk to and very nice. And the gallery itself was... More

If you are travelling through Varanasi and have an interest in art I would jump on a quick rickshaw to Mahmoor Ganj and stop by Kriti Gallery. It is a beautiful space, surrounded by nature and a quiet escape from the busy streets. The art on display is carefully selected by the owners who care to showcase a range of... More
