Manufacturing and selling handmade and only natural textiles like pure silk, wool and cashmere textiles last 30 years and my shop is highly recommended by many European and English language travel guide books from a long, long time.

We stayed at the Harish and Mallika's excellent homestay , and found an added bonus... a treasure of silks in the showroom that is part of his establishment..we did not come looking for silks, we just came for Varanasi..and this too was a highlight ..why? because Harish the congenial proprietor has a rare quality in addition to his knowledge and... Indian Harish Rijhwani is not a typical pushy Indian salesman; his nice, clean and spacious shop has fixed prices, he is knowledgable and is not offended if you don't buy. I think! - I bought beautiful material with me home. A silk brocade in two colours, and the most excuisite silks for blouses that will be sown by a taylor... More

Shopping experiences in Varanasi can often be very pressured and stressful. Here at Paraslakshmi, Harish and his expert team have very high quality textiles including scarves, bedspreads and other materials. There is no pressure to purchase, and they patiently give you details of how the items were made. They even kept the shop open for us long after closing time... More

We stayed at the Homestay over the Dev Diwali festival which was all wonderful. I reviewed the Homestay in a separate review. Owner Harish and family have a great textile shop in the street level of their home. I don’t think that the prices were the absolute best, but I felt extremely confident that I was getting good value. Harish... More

Although I generally do not have much patience and enthusiasm for shopping, while in Varanasi I was hot to find a special gift for my sister. I loved the whole Paraslakshmi Exports experience! At no time was there any pressure to hurry up and choose, or even to buy anything at all. I looked at a dizzying array of vibrant... More

We were accommodated at the Homestay also at this location and became so entranced by our breakfast and dinner conversations with Harish that we had to ask to see his textile shop, the site of the previous evening's private sitar and tabla concert. There, Harish told us how he got into this business and how he developed it, eventually gathering... More

Yes, this is THE place to buy anything textile in Varanasi, yes, the service is marvelous, and yes the prices make you want to put together a whole container and ship them home!! As it was, I bought three and gave way two to rave reviews (had to keep one for myself :) We, too, stayed with Harish and his... More

This is THE place to do your gift shopping (including for yourself) in this part of the world. There are exquisite silk neckscarves in gorgeous deep colors, woven silk shawls in beautiful patterns and bright colors, placemats, among so much more. The items from Paraslakshmi were the favorites of all I've brought home from several trip to India, for female... More

There's something humbling about being wrapped in the highest quality cloth you've ever seen. I stayed with Harish and went shopping in his textile shop and am grateful I stopped here before going to baba black sheep. He showed me how his products were the same as they offered and priced at half of what they showed on their website.... More

We were lucky enough to stay with Harish and his family in his adjoining Homestay during our time in Varanasi (also highly recommended). We did not know beforehand about the shop, but decided to visit during some of our tourism downtime. Harish's products are beautiful...we bought an extensive amount of scarves of all kinds and qualities, and my travel partner... More
