During my time in Varanasi I was lucky enough to spend a few days with young students here. The teacher structured the lessons very well so I never felt out of place and the students are very eager to learn. It was a wonderful experience and I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Varanasi.

Looking for somewhere to try out yoga in Varanasi, I am so glad that we found Somit's place. With offers also including cooking class, massage, hindi lessons and more, and above that it is a part of a beautifull school project, it does not get any better. Yoga class was ajusted perfectly to the levels of the participants, and it... More

I had an unforgettable experience here. I spent a week as a volunteer teaching and playing with children and I learnt a lot from them. They are so motivated about learn and they receive you with open arms. The tutors are also great and the atmosphere is quite relax so you do not feel stressed about what to do. In... More

We were there for a month of Yoga becausewe felt it was the most genuine place around. We ignored the dinginess - it's varanasi after all. We ignored the mice and the paper thin walls - after all we are not looking for luxury. We accepted food posioning (twice) and started eating out without complaint - though food was originally... If you are still not sure what to do in Varanasi...this is the place to go. We spent 5 days here and had an incredible time. The number of kids is around 15 which makes it easy to work.Besides, the atmosphere is pretty free so there are many ways to contribute, even just playing with them. Childrens are nice and... More

My friend and I spent only a few days in Varanasi at the guesthouse. http://www.tripadvisor.in/Hotel_Review-g297685-d2447014-Reviews-Somit_Paying_Guest_House-Varanasi_Uttar_Pradesh.html We weren't able to take a yoga class during our time there because of time constraints, but we were given very enjoyable boat tours of the Ghats and morning and evening ceremonies. We spent the majority of our time volunteering at the schools Somit runs.... More

We had a great stay in Somit's Guesthouse. A very authentic experience. The guesthouse has everything needed: clean water, good bed, place to keep items, delicious food available to order, tours without being too "touristy." Everything is catered to you. We loved the ghats' tour (we did both morning and evening--highly recommend both!). But our favorite thing was working with... More

Our experience in Somit's guest house was nice; China is a very good cook (the eggplants were absolutely fantastic); so i would recommend to try his food ! The early morning boat trip is worth it, very peaceful. If you are there for just one or two days I would also recommend to get a little tour of the city... More

Liked it! The owner is a great teacher and it was a pleasure to attend his class. The boat trip was also a great experience. It was amazing to see the gaths of Varanasi almost empty and to witness the sunrise over the Ganges.
