This was on our way to/from Agra. We went there as a team from work and visited the Sikri on our way back to Delhi. Great historic place to visit. Watch out for hustlers though. Get a good tour guide.

First be warned. this place is about 45 minutes to an hour away from the city center of Agra. Once at Fatehpur Sikri you have to take a bus to the actual entrance to the palace. Once inside we had the WHOLE place to ourselves. We spent about an hour here and saw all the rooms in a non rushed... More

It's not a bad place to stop by for an hour - an hour and a half. Not worth a seperate visit though.

During our holyday we visit Fatehpur Sikri, an old forgotten city. The buildings are very beautiful and contains a lot of details. When you are in India, the Fatehpur Sikri is a must to see.

The entire city has a charm like never before, children will enjoy it if they've been exposed to tales of Akbar - Birbal and generally enjoy history. Can get really hot during the day, so choose the time of the year to visit really well.

I visited here during a day trip to Agra. It was absolutely amazing. The architecture was incredible, it's hard to imagine how it was built with such a high level of detail around 500 years ago.

Read Salman Rushdie's novel 'The Enchantress of Florence' before you go and it will bring the city to life. The guides will only take you to the elephant's tomb if you ask them (it is off the beaten track) but well worth the effort.

This is one of the most magnificent sights (and sites) in India, the sheer scale of this abandoned palace takes your breath away. We first saw Fatehpur Sikri over 25 years ago but it it still has the power to enthral. It is not quite as accessible as it used to be but it is still very much worth the... More
