The fort is built keeping lot of offensive and defensive tactics in mind - well that's the point of building forts. It's good to hire a guide or stay in vicinity of a group that has one ;-) The guide will tell you about the ditch around the fort, sloped entrance ramp. Towards the end of the tour, the guide... This was a must see when attending Agra and it was even more amazing than I expected. Highly recommend it! The 'moat' was more of an open sewer though...

Definitely worth you get a guide so you will find a lot of interesting things. Indian culture is always exceptional. This historical building is very well preserved, entry fee is very small.

Wow so much mogul empire history. I would recommend a guide, however you can haggle the rates down. But ours was bad, did not know his historical facts very well, we had fun asking questions since we knew most of them. NRI are special they have to pay more!!

This fort is well kept, beautiful and reasonably priced to visit. You can see a small glimpse of Taj Mahal from some parts of the fort. On fridays, there is a discount on the price for foreigners. Be prepared to face lots of guides who want to show you around, because they really don't take no for an answer! If... More
