Jaipur is better

It's nice, though in all honesty doesn't even compare to Amber Fort in Jaipur. Still, worth a visit when in Agra. Mind the hecklers.

After our disappointing visit to the Taj Mahal we went to the fort and well we had a much better time. Still no food or drinks for sale, but fewer "guides" and simply a more relaxed atmosphere. There is soo much to see, different buildings in different styles, also enough marble, beautiful decorated rooms and great views (also on the... More

An impressing base of former power. Even today the fort is big and the many yards with different styles and use is a unique symbol of the power of this loccation.

Mughals really knew how to live and the lived a truly royal life. Agra fort and Red Fort in Delhi are must see places.

Agra fort was amazing. Make sure you get a guide that speaks good english and that knows the history. Either that or you can do your research yourself before. It has relation to the Tja Mahal and is actually very interesting. This building was built over three generations, which i found amazing and you can really see the difference in... More

Although beautiful to see, it is a shame that the buildings and grounds are not better taken care of, the smell of urine is all over the interior buildings. Such a shame that the government of Agra is not taking care of this beautiful sight.

So much of India's history originates from here, i would throughly recommend a guide to explain the many poignant historical stories and landmarks within the fort... check out the platform high above the inner moat (from the outside), where prisoners were made to stand before they fell into the the clutches of the bears and tigers !

Definitely worth it. In my opinion the second best fort (to gwalior) in the country, and certainly one of the most historic. Infinitely better than the red fort in delhi. And the view.....
