It is near the railway station and it is very similar to red fort of delhi, but still a nice and beautiful palace. It has build of architecture style of mughals.

This fort is very interesting and has a fabulous view of the Taj Mahal. The King who build the Taj was imprisoned here and could see his Taj Mahal where his favorite wife was buried. You will learn the story of the many members of the Harem who lived here and see the area in which they lived and "played".

This place is really impressive. Just a shame it has to compete with the Taj Mahal. There are some great stories and pieces of information about the fort and its features, so make sure you get a guide.

Make Sure before you Visit Taj Mahal, Visit Agra Fort First because you can go through Agra fort in 1 hours...However in Taj Mahal, It would take more 3 hours....So be ready for it. VIEW OF TAJ MAHAL FROM AGRA FORT WAS AWESOME. Shahjanh used to see Taj Mahal from Agra Fort

Only 25 percent of this massive fort is open to the public (the other 75 percent being under military control). The Agra Fort was built over three generations, beginning with Akbar, then Shahjahan, then Aurangzeb - three of the greatest Mughal kings. Akbar built a beautiful summer residence, a library and a temple for his Hindu wife, Jodha. This section... More

We had seen Red Fort in Delhi but that in no way prepares you for the Agra fort. It is immense, beautiful, incredible and well worth the visit.

The emperor who built the Tah Mahal as a mausoleum for his favorite wife lived here, and gazed upon the monument across the river until his death.

I have to say that I prefered our visit to Agra fort to our visit to the Taj Mahal. The site is huge with some amazing buildings in it. There are good views across to the Taj Mahal if the weather is clear, but air pollution can restrict the view.

Agra fort is really amazing and each time we were surprised by different details, buildings, the spectacular view on the Taj Mahal etc. This fort beats the Red Fort in New Delhi
