Truly something you do not want to miss. It s simply amazing, the architecture is incredible and the story behind it is captivating. I was speechless when I stood in front of it and I was lucky because it was not crowded when I was there. So go to the taj mahal and just enjoy this impressive piece of art.

It's not just the Taj Mahal itself that is wonderful to see, but the surrounding gardens are excellent with shaded paths, flowers, shrubs, wildlife and plenty of benches to sit in out of the sun and take it all in. The Taj Mahal itself is one of those places that just makes you stop and wonder. We never bother with... More

Spectacular it looks nothing like the pictures in a good way which is what I love in architecture. We saw it from across the river at sunset before we went inside the next day and it was great the sun glistening off of it perfectly. My only complaint was there was a group of little kids that were locals running... More

The TM is beautiful of course but it was really interesting to see so many Indian tourists from all parts of the country. We had a great guide too, Ramesh, who really knew his stuff and was very insightful.

Yes it's a World Heritage Site, historic, unique, etc., but it's not as grand as I had imagined beforehand. To get to the Taj Mahal you have to drive through miles of extreme poverty (even by India standards) and cars aren't allowed to within about 1 km of the entrance. From the moment I was dropped off at the cordon... More

It's the Taj! I have been twice and enjoyed it both times. However I must say that I am very disappointed in the Indian Government for charging foreign tourists so much more than Indians, or anyone that looks Indian. (I don't remember but foreigners ,or people who look foreign are charged about $15, whereas Indians pay about $1.) Simply it's... More

Awesome experience. Try to do the sunrise visit when it is less crowded and to avoid long waiting. Carry water in summer and a cap

It takes 3 hours to get there if the traffic is good, so plan accordingly. The approach through the city of Agra is almost as interesting as the Taj itself. The people, the traffic, the animals in the streets and the chaos is almost overwhelming, like most cities in India. We had a guide who told us the story of... More
