This monument to love is truly a wonder. I cannot express the amazement I experienced to see how much precision went into it's construction and the thought that went into each detail. Head to the West Gate for a quick entrance. Check with several people the opening times as we were told 6am, 6.30am and in fact it had opened at 5.30am. I think it's always at sunrise.

Best time to visit is sunset and then cross the river and watch the sun rise on it in the morning.Take time to just sit and watch the changing colours on the marble.

The magnificence of the Taj Mahal is amazing. Rubys and Emeralds cut as stones into the marble rather than the marble being painted. Enormous cost and 12 years to build. It really is one of the wonders of the world. The best time of year to go for Americans or Europeans from temperate climes would be March. April for those... More

My wife and I visited Agra in April 2013. The Taj is best visited at sunset and sunrise as it changes colors during the day. Our driver took us at sunset to see the Taj from across the river. But before we did that we visited the baby Taj. It is weird because the baby Taj is not on the... More
