Visiting India for the very first time makes me eager to see this world famous wonder....'The Taj Mahal'. Most people around the world knows the history behind this architectural marvel and it took several years to build this white marbled building, and the very reason is "love". Since I was a kid at school, I read a lot of stories... more

Taj Mahal standing proudly on the bank of the river Yamuna in Agra, is India's noble tribute to the grace of Indian womanhood. Built by Shahjehan, the 5th emperor of Mughal empire in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal is the largest and the most expensive mausoleum built by any man on earth The "symbol of... more

We went there a few years ago on my wife's birthday. As we were part of a tour, the rest of the group let us go through the arch first. It was a wonderful sight, and everybody stood in silence as the sun came up. The building changed colours every few minutes. Greys, whites, pinks and yellows, and the river at... more

The craftsmanship is amazing. It is smaller than I thought it would be from the pictures I have seen, but no one tells you about the grounds surrounding "Taj" (as the call it in India). The gardens are incrediable (and I'm not really a garden person), they are immaculatly kept and are completely semetrical throught the grounds. Tips: Hire a... more

Being NOT a big fan of Museums (and I compared this to sort of a museum), I really almost skipped this visit. WHAT A MONUMENTAL MISTAKE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN!! The "Taj Mahal" is an ABSOLUT MUST on anyones list over places to visit. A guide is an absolut must as well, to learn and appreciate the whole concept and... more

It may seem a cliche to rave about the beauty of the Taj Mahal, but it is truly breathtaking. As one enters from the usual cacophony and aromas of the average Indian city street, the almost immediate sense of serenity is beguiling. Although rarely with less than a huge number of visitors, the spaciousness of the whole site within which... more

Of all the places I have gone sight seeing in 20 plus countries nothing has amazed me like the TAJ MAHAL in Agra, India! It is sheer beauty and a lot more fascinating than all the pictures I have seen. See it to believe! Worth every penny you spend , even if you are traveling around the world to have... more
