The roads inside the sanctuary are horrible so prepare for a backbreaking ride. The people who work in the sanctuary including the driver of the bus claim to have seen wild animals such as tigers, panthers, bears but unfortunately no such animals were sighted during the trip. Only monkeys were seen. The only reason one should take this journey is... More

My trip to visit the avalanche wasn't completely fruitful. Well, it means i got a glimpse of the avalanche when traveling to reach the main destination. The moment I was heading more towards the depth of the jungle I realized that there must be quite a few people around the main area - near the water. When we reached the... More

The place is well maintained and they take care to avoid plastic etc. We took the seats in the mini bus to avoid the jeep cost, and realised this was the better way, because there is only one road to and... The roads inside the jungle is very bad so gear up for a jumpy ride. Also, no animals will be viewed but the destination of upper bhavani lake is worth taking the pain....

For wildlife enthusiasts & the well-travelled, you wouldn't miss much if you couldn't make it here. This is about 25kms away from Ooty town.Taking a taxi up & down itself would cost u Rs1500, 1600 if u book via the hotel reception desks. The lake & the greenery is not worth the effort you taking in getting there & waiting in... More

We visited this place in beginning of May 2014. It is about one hour drive from ooty. We left early in the morning and the drive to the sanctuary was so scenic that we wanted to just drive on and on. We reached the forest safari start point at about 8.30 am and then were told that the safari starts... More

If you have the time and love nature, it is the place to be. Located about 90 mins away from Ooty, you got to obtain permission from the DFO Office Ooty to go inside the reserved area. Another 19 Km from the Forest Camp is the Lake. Enroute is the forest called 'Cauliflower Forest'. All these are wonderful- I am... More

If u r ready to spend a day to just see a lake. U can try it. U will not see any animals other than monkeys. The lake is very nice but is it worth spending a day waiting in queue? I am not sure.
