Make sure to spend some time taking the historical journey in the famous toy train. it is recommended that you reserve your tickets in advance in IRCTC rather buying an open ticket there. It is an amazing journey and it was an beautiful train travel ever for me. People of every age groups enjoy this.

There are four trains in a day for Ooty-Coonoor and return. We took the last train which departs at 12;15 pm in general coach enjoying the company of the local people and returned with a French family in First Class at 4 pm which is the last train to Ooty from Coonoor. The duration of the journey is 1-1.5 hr... More

It reminded me of my old childhood days. The small toy train like train, passes through all the beautiful ooty forests and tea gardens at few places. Highly recommended on your itinerary if you are in Ooty for 2 or more days.

take first class ticket as it is very less crowded. The ticket is 150 rs where as the normal ticket is 10 rs. But you get your own privacy in first class. In my case me and my wife were the only passenger in first class.

The train is a classical one which runs on a Narrow Guage. The nearly Five hour ride is a treat with its amazing view. The train runs very slow and passes through number of bridges and tunnels. It was a breath taking experience. Avoid direct booking's during peak seasons. Book in advance to enjoy a memorable experience.

Visited Ooty recently and while there took the train from Ooty to Coonoor. The train by itself is a classical one which runs on a Narrow Guage. The nearly one hour ride is a treat with its amazing view. The train passes through tunnels and over bridges. Only limited number of tickets are available. First class needs to be booked... More

No words to say when you are sitting quitely on a slow moving train and see mountains and waterfalls pass through you. We went till a station nearby to see the tea plantations and then came back by taxi. One should compulsory check this if he is a train lover.
