Very calm, no crowd and a relaxing place where you can enjoy every bit of nature far away from the main city.

Breathtaking lake! It has become a restricted area now for multiple reasons, however we managed to take a quick glance. We visited the place when rains were pouring and I was glad I didn't take my camera along with me - not because of the rains but simply because this place required my undivided attention. The rains, emerald water, trees... More

We visited Emerald Dam (slight right from the village where it says Emerald). It is a nice dam, with pretty much no visitor. Felt so calm and serene in the midst of nature.

It takes almost 1 hr to reach emerald lake from ooty town. Not a Great Lake as many reviewed, however the best thing is that there is virtually no one around and it is ideal way to spend an evening.it was great to see an isolated place in a crowded season.

These two are probably are the 2 most hyped places on the internet in the vicinity of Ooty. It is said that these two lakes are very beautiful and even comparable to the lakes of Ladakh. At the same time it is said that whatever is written on the internet should be taken with a pinch of salt and the... More

Wonder why people do not take the effort to go here. It is a beautiful, breathtaking place tucked away from the crowded town. There were hardly 15 people when we reached there and it was so quiet and serene. The drive to reach this place is also worth it - with slopes of tea plantations and views of the valley.... More
