This museum is located just near the Taj Savoy Hotel. It is informative for you if you have flair in apiculture. Nilgiris is famous for its honey produce and this museum educates one on the various honey harvesting techniques. Ooty may perhaps be the only hill station with many special museums – a couple of tea museums, chocolate museum, wax... More

We found this museum very interesting whereas we went there without any big interest. It's simple but you can learn a lot about the bee of south India, and you will be surprised to see how local people harvest. Time to spend : 1h to 1h30

this place happened to be quite close to our hotel (Taj Savoy) so we dropped in and spent an hour here. Quite unique and worth the ticket price. you can learn a lot about the bees and honey stuff here. the AV room wasn't working when we went, but I guess they have good things to show about bee culture.... Surprised why not many know about it! Better than the run-of-the-mill botanical gardens, rose garden, this garden and that garden, and the numerous shooting-points in ooty. The half an hour video they show about bee harvesting by tribals left me amazed. The place is less known, and I am surprsied why it figures so low in the ranking. Equally enchanting... More

Not for those who looking for fun. But will be good for children to learn about something. You can learn entire life of bee, its type, honey made process, etc. Visit if you have time. If you are really looking for fun, don't even think about it.

We were there with the kids ... the museum is tucked away close to a gas station near Taj Savoy. Since we stayed at the Savoy, we paid a visit - total time spent - 1 hour. Museum is just a small corridor filled with posters about bees and honey collection process. The video is the showstopper and it is... More

Many of my friends had gone to ooty and none knew there was a bee museum there. If you go there, they play a 20 min documentry of how honey is collected and everything you would like to know abt bees. We bought bitter honey. It is really tasty and also bitter at the same time, and lots of products... More

You can visit the museum only if you are interested in knowing about bee harvesting and honey collection being done in traditional way by tribal people. The place gives a picture of sheer negligence and no body present there seems interested also to have visitors to bother them with specific questions.
