there are stone elephants near the tanks which has story behind them. archaeology/history important .

Visited the temple and it is a beautiful and very old with good architectural and following traditions. one day is not sufficient to see the full temple

Majestic Temple that the temple town is famous for. Not suprising why the people of madurai call it as a Wonder. Yes its a wonder that has a very beautiful architecture , Sculptures and the main deity is a delight to watch. The meenakshi - sundareshwar thirukalyanam festival is celebrated by thousands in the month of april - may.

Meenakshi temple is a great attraction known for its architectural beauty. Awesome and truly majestic. It is a pity that we couldn't get to visit and pay homage to the goddess since foreigners are not allowed to the holy sanctorum. A vast and beautiful temple with four giant Gopurams (towers) on four sides. Badly maintained The people cheat you in name of religion. Enjoy the architecture of the temple.
