Yes we ate some food that we have never ate, but we couldn't enjoy to the fullest. Due to the rain since the 1st four place were street foods. Then we went to 2 resturant and our stomach got so full that we were not able to eat another bite. The guide was so understandable that he brought us parcel... More

Highly recommended. We had a great time, trying all the fabulous food, and Praveena was a perfect guide - you couldn't help but get infected with her passion for the food of Maduai. 2 weeks later and we still think about which was our favourite tasting .... was it the Idiyappam or the stuffed Parotta?

This tour was taken by me and my husband. We wanted to explore authentic street food of madurai even though we are very much from Tamilnadu itself. It was an amazing tour, got to eat a vast variety of dishes which tasted so yummy and got to meet so many people from these eateries who serve food with a huge... More

Take this tour! Great food, great company, so many sights to enjoy. This is such a great way to visit a city that is NOT about monuments, but about daily life and food. We had far ranging discussions with Praveena as we walked - from food sourcing to education, to jobs, to marriage, meanwhile sampling all sorts of different goodies.... More

We had fantastic evening trying such a variety of dishes. We went home absolutely satiated and keen to find more. The tour unveils some of the hidden gems of Indian street and fast food. A must do!

If someone had told me that I would be eating street food in India, I would have said "No way!" But that's exactly what we did on our foodie tour. Four of us followed our leader, the founder of the company, through the frenetic streets of Madurai, tasting many yummy things, some new, some old. I had the most delicious... More

While planning our trip to India, one of our targets was to know more about Indian food, and with this tour we have achieved it. Although we had been in Tamil Nadu for a few days already, and we had experienced food in local places, this tour showed us new dishes, tastes and cultural tips about how and what to... More

Three cheers for Pandian of Foodies Day Out of Madurai, India and the fabulous tour of all the small restaurants, food stalls, food carts and otherwise, where the locals know they serve the best food in town. He was an informed and delightful tour guide, who's love of the food of his home city is definitely obvious. Throw away all... More

India in general (and Tamil Nadu in particular) lends itself very well to cheap eats. As a foreigner, the problem is always finding the best spots. This tour solves that problem and does much more than that. Beyond the actual food, Praveena took us through dimly-lit alleyways, crowded city streets and to hundred-year-old dosai restaurants. And it wasn't just your... More

I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Absolutely worth the price. Our friendly guide, Praveena, had impressive familiarity with the food culture of Madurai. She took us to spots that we would never have discovered on our own, and ordered dishes that we might not have thought to try. Definitely come hungry, and pace yourself. There's more good food than... More
