We got to try loads of delicious South Indian food and it was catered really well for us as vegetarians. Our guide Mukunthan was great, really enthusiastic and a genuine foody! Anyone going through madurai who likes food should definitely do this tour!

My partner and I have just had the most fantastic fun evening sampling some of the finest south indian and in particular Madurai dishes from idly to mutton dosa to the most delicious "hand churned" icecream. Our host was a true gent! Extremely informative a pleasure to be with. What a great way to dispel the myths of what you... More

My boyfriend and I are no strangers to food tours; we believe that the best way to experience a culture is first through its cuisine. Our modus operandi: on the first day in a new place, sample as much as possible. In countries where we are unfamiliar with the language or customs, we book a tour early on (this ensures... More

Must do for anyone who wants a crash course on the best food Madurai has to offer. Pandian took the time to understand our palate preferences before his selection of food carts and restaurants for our tour. He met us at our hotel and brought us to his favourite local eateries. He introduced us to a good mix of Indian... More

We were looking forward to our Foodies Night, but the experience was beyond our expectations. We learnt so much about Indian Food , which also enriched the rest of our trip as we were then more confident about trying street food and also ordering different things. Our guide , Panian, was charming and completely dedicated to explaining Indian food and... More

A big thanks to Pandian and Praveena our guides for making it special with their local knowledge, enthusiasm, great English and patience with our many questions about the food and India. My son and I had a great evening touring the city and tasting over 20 different Indian foods in restaurants and on the streets. I wish we had done... More

If you have a spare evening in Madurai, going on a 'Foodies Day Out' Tour is a great way to spend it. Between being picked up and dropped off at our hotel we spent 3 hours or more in the company of a friendly, charming informative guide, who took us to numerous small, back street restaurants and stalls which we... We loved this tour! Our guide was not only knowledgable and enthusiastic about his city's food but gave us a wealth of information about India in general. The food was excellent and we ended up in places we never would have found on our own. This tour is a must for any inquisitive traveler's itinerary. Five stars for sure!
