The dam has very vast area with a guest house. The long steps take us to the dam. The dam is very well cleaned and protected. But to play in water is very danger.

The Aliyar dam reservoir park is situated on the Pollachi-Valparai highway at 20 km from Pollachi and the good state highway takes around 25 to 30 min to reach it. Cars and vehicles can be parked at the entrance of the park along road side with a fee. The park has small entrance fee. The park is maintained somehow Ok... More

Be there during rainy and winter seasons and you will enjoy the stunning beauty of the hills behind. Be there in summer and you will swear at yourself. The park is very badly maintained with garbage everywhere, a must-not-go toilet and not attractive flora.

The park itself though beautiful is average, but if you walk up the reservoir then you have the magnificent... More

Stopped at Aliyar Dam en-route to Valparai. The place is about 30 mins drive from Pollachi. The approach road is very good, sufficient parking available and there are plenty of shops near the entry gate selling all stuffs and snacks. We went on a Saturday, there was good crowd visiting, the queue was long but thanks to efficient staff, it... More

I have visited this park with my hubby, the natural plants & flowers were good to see. But the park was so isolated when we visited. The maintenance was average.
