The WOW experience to be at the highest lake in India, the cool calming water of the lake never freezes even at sub zero temp it is the source of water for the people. One of the source of River Tiesta.

I visited this lake in December, and the temperatures were below zero. The road to the lake is in bad condition and the journey is long and uncomfortable. Gurudongmar lake is one of the holy lakes of sikkim and its situated at 17700 ft and believed that guru padmasambhava has touched this lake .beautiful lake with the mountains background. Foreign people are not allowed to visit .they can visit till thangu at 14500 ft above lachen village.

we went there on october, 2013.\it was great place.not recommended for older people or people with asthma problem.it was in 17100 ft hight.take medicines with you.do not run or walk repidly surroundings the lake.enjoy the view. you can feel heaven there. surroundins was awesome.
