The place is well maintained. The palace has two heritage hotels and the private palace for the present Royals. The palace is looking to the lakes and one can have good view of new Udaipur city and the Oberoi and lake palace hotels.

Don't miss the City Palace, especially if you love art and architecture. It's simply beautiful, and I easily lost myself walking round. The boat trip to the lake is also a wonderful experience, and I enjoyed a beer at the restaurant outside - expensive but worth it if you have been backpacking and slumming it for a while.

The palace is really a great experience to visit. The items and history is really amazing to see. The guards and people there are really friendly.

It's a very nice and well maintained place, you need to get a guide though, we wouldn't have seen what we saw if we didn't have one, they are usually crammed outside the area and you'll find them offering their guidance, we were a group of 5 and we paid the guide 200 rupees, which is quite nice. We learned... More

If you have time and haven't seen other forts or palaces in Rajasthan then you should visit. Otherwise, too crowded, expensive, and not much to see , just too many paintings..

This palace and its museum is a must visit in Udaipur. We had great views of it from our hotel. It is located in the old city. Driving may be slightly problematic because of the narrow roads. Parking is provided. The tickets cost Rs 250 per person. Camera charges is another 250. It is said to be the biggest palace... More
