We took a detour during our drive from Mt Abu to Udaipur to visit this fort based on a friend's recommendation. We were certainly not disappointed! This is a must see monument and compares to the Great Wall of China in terms of the outer walls of the fort. Access was thru rustic lands which gave us a great feel... More

This place should only be included in rainy session only. This place is best during rain when clouds come down to level where you can feel that you are above the clouds. Great views....

Unfortunately there's nothing between average and very good on the rating scale (I would have gone for "good"). I can't call it average because the views from the fort are breathtaking... and only for the views it's worth enduring the looooong climb to the fort (beware if you struggle walking or if you have children with you, it is quite... Very well maintained place by Government. Much better than the private palaces of kings in vicinity who charge hefty fees. The light and sound show is very touching.

Fort is very beautiful but only thing which we disliked is that after reaching the top of the fort, the gates were found to be closed. A visit to Kumbalgarh is good.

Although this place is really off the beaten track and the road to go there is quite a mess, once you arrive, it is completely worth it. Don´t miss it if you have some time in Udaipur!

Wow. What a fort. Kumbalgarh is a magnificent forst built in 15th centuary and has a 36 KM long wall running across Aravalli mountains. The fort has more than 300 temples inside. It is about 80km from udaipur and is 2 hours drive but dont miss this place.

The fort is situated on a hill and though you have to climb up a bit the effort is worth it.The fort has some amazing views. and at night it looks beautiful. the sound and light show at the fort brings alive its history.
