I could see this lake from the balcony of my hotel (Hilltop Palace) - it is a very calm, but serene lake with a lovely outlook.

While the lake pichola is crowded and has no free stretch to enjoy, the fatehsagar lake is a tourists pleasure. There is a road around it so that you can enjoy a leisurely drive.

Go after the first rains and you would love it.. the sunset view is the best. you also can opt for a boating ride. you also have an option of Roadside food. Chocolate coffee is a must have on the lake.

Visit during the time of sunset. The view is awesome. Take a boat ride from the shore to the Jawaharlal Nehru park in the middle of the lake. Nothing much to see in the park. Spend some time and come back. Best time to visit is during the sunset

We visited in evening and did sunset boat ride. It was bit chilly in January but still bearable. There are five start hotels on lake shore which illuminates beautifully in evening.
