Sardar Government Museum named after Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur is located in Public Park Jodhpur which also has a zoo. The museum was built in the 19th century. The collection consists of 6-10th century sculptures stone sculptures, inscriptions, coins, small paintings, metallic objects and arms, displayed in different sections. The museum is not maintained properly.

No doubt the museum has seen better days, there is a wide collection of artefacts including stuffed animals, paintings, marble objects, clothes and various other things. sardar govt museum is located at tne middle of the umaid garden near about 5 km away from main city .During the of maharaja umaid singh ji it was built ,it was named after maharajas sardar singh ji this museum has a graet collection of weapons ,textiles,coins,miniature portraits and images of jain trithankars timing of this museum is from 10am... Entry fee is only Rs.10/-. Being a govt.museum, the artifacts are not maintained properly and need immediate restoration efforts. There are priceless items including paintings, murals,armaments, utensils. The history of Rajsthan rulers is depicted in a very interesting manner. It can become a good attraction if immediate steps are taken to improve the display area and its ambience. The gardens... More
