Everyone goes to Mehrangarh Fort and it is worth it. Few take the time to stop at the small memorial down the hill. The Jaswant Thada is an exquisite marble structure with a garden overlooking Jodhpur. Portraits of the maharajas grace the interior. A musician plays and sings Rajasthani songs outside adding to the atmosphere. The Jaswant Thada is well... More

Aftet a point..all palaces and forts look similar. Jaswant thada is a different experience. Its a memorial for the royal family and is just beautiful. It was the quietest place in Jodhpur and the mose serene and calm destination. was there in the evening. Good place to visit around sunset.

Be careful on timings. The picture collection is awesome with photos/pictures for rulers from 1150 ad. The architecture is awesome and it's really cool inside even in the blazing sun. The attached garden is nice.

Jaswant Thada, is a memorial building for Maharaja Jaswant Singh II that was constructed in 1899. It is probably the second most important attraction in Jodhpur after the imposing Mehrangarh Fort. Entry fee is 30 Rupee for foreign visitors and 25 Rupee for camera fee, which is well worth paying as the memorial building and grounds are quite photogenic. If... More

This was our first stop with our Jodhpur guide, and a lovely way to start the day. From the green grass and attractive gardens to the lovely interior, it was a peaceful experience. And a fine location for an introduction to Jodhpur history and Hindu customs. The interior, with the pictures of all the maharajas was fascinating as well as... More
