Mohanlal Verhomal was the legend of spices in JOdhpur city of Rajasthan. He was the pioneer of the spices. He was the first person to introduce and sell spices to the tourists coming from all over the world. His aim was to provide the best quality and best blends of spices to the foreign tourists. He made JOdhpur city (dry) popular for the spices with his mixing s and best quality spices and service. MV Spices is the old and original spices-seller of the city with great quality and service to the tourist. He and his spices are recommended by all the travel guide books.Unfortunately, Mr.Mohanlal Verhomal expired in 2004, leaving behind his family of seven daughters and his wife. Since they are women, but still they took step against the soceity to continue with the business in this men-dominating society of India. After his death, there are lots of duplicate shops around the market, they all have similar name, as they have-MV SPICES.All the other spices shops start their name with "M"-to confuse tourists. When you will visit the store you will find one of the daughter of Mr.Mohanlal Verhomal to explain you about the spices, teas and saffron. Meanwhile you can have a cup chai with them.More details you will find when you will visit the store.

I was lucky enough to have met, Neelam, the third daughter of the late Mohanlal Verhomal ("King" of Spices). Neelam was not not only charming, but has a very good sense of humour - and she sure knows her spices and other products. I don't cook a lot of indian cuisine, but these spices have brought out the inner chef... More

Stopped to visit to pick up Darjeeling Tea, Kavita was charming, helpful and knowledgeable. I purchased a lovely amount of tea for myself and as gifts for friends at home in addition to some currys and other spices. We floated into this shop whilst exploring the clock tower markets, and we ended up staying for half an hour or so snuffling around and learning about the spices. You will be given a very warm welcome and a whole heap of interesting information, definitely worth a butchers if you're in the area!

We went here as part of our holiday in Northern India and were delighted to come upon a such a quality shop run by -charming! - ladies only. This is quite a challenge in India which is still VERY male dominated although men are of course VERY welcome to this shop as well as women! You have to work more... More

After touring the Fort we came across the M.V. Spices kiosk near the exit. Continuously pursuing culinary arts as, first a possible career path and now a hobby, I was immediately drawn to a large multi-pack of a variety of different spices and was very interested in purchasing a few. We did not want to carry them with us though... More
