These are the cenotaphs of the royaly family of Jaisalmer i.e. an empty tomb erected in honour of a person who dies and whose remains are somewhere else. As all the royal family members were cremated these cenotaphs were erected in a secluded peaceful place in their remembrance. Unless you have a guide with you it will be difficult to... More

Fantastic place to click some great pics and just wander around amidst history. Calming surroundings...worth a visit! However, people who can't climb/walk rough terrain will not be able to enjoy this place or see it upclose. Wear good walking shoes.

Bada bagh are ruins in the middle of nowhere. The place is okay as a pit-stop to the dunes. Its quite good for photography though, specially during sunset.

Indians do not normally go to cemeteries unlike Westerners, but the Cenotaps or Chattris of the royal family of Jaisalmer is a must visit, when you are in Jaisalmer. The area is calm and peaceful, extremely picturesque. Bada Bagh is on the Jaisalmer-Ramgarh Road and can be visited while enroute / on... More
