Description: Jai Shankar Handicrafts in majestic Rajasthan showcases Thar Desert...
Jai Shankar Handicrafts in majestic Rajasthan showcases Thar Desert Antique Embroidery and Textiles. The embroideries in this region of Rajasthan are impressive. Traditional wedding dresses, opium bags, and dowery bags come from desert villages and are sewn together as patch work wall hangings, bed covers and many other things by local people. The owner, Shankar Khatri, has a Diploma in Culture and Tourism and a passion for arts, so he also creates custom, one-of-a-kind designs.

My mum and I had a lovely time with Shankar, his wonderful textiles, chai tea and stories. We bought several pieces at what I believe to be a good price. I would recommend this shop to others wishing to buy bags, bed spreads, wall hangings. No hard sales pitch that turned me off at other places.

Hi, i visited jai Shankar handicraft yesterday. Stuff is gud, no doubt about it, but the thing i like the about this store is the quotes he (Mr. Shankar) writes by himself to promote his products. Excellent strategy to attract customers.

We spent 2 hours in front of the shop before going in (power cut, ATM out).. Shankar was so nice we didn't see the time go by. He sells a lot of beautiful handmade scarfs and bed sheets. We finaly bought some light clothes for our camel safari. The prices were (after discussion) very honest !

I had a beautiful bag made from folk material designed to my specifications for a great price. I chose the material in the shop and I was delighted with the result. It is beautifully made and I thank Shankar immensely. I will wear it with pride in Mexico City! It is a treasure trove of beautiful textiles...well worth a visit!... More
