The National protected Sand Dune area. Good for Sand Dune Bashing (similar to Dubai organised by Lama Travels), open 4X4 Jeep Safari, Camel Rides, Camel Cart Rides, lot of tent/camp options, and phenomenal sunset view. This is a must visit. The Toyota Fortuner Sand Dune Bashing looks very steep at 3,500 per person but is worth every paisa as this... More

Definitely not something you'd expect if your plan is to visit a wonderful desert similar to what we see in movies. It's highly commercialized and not really worth the money too, except for the sunset view. The sand dunes are extended to a very small area and my thirst for watching desert wasn't quite quenched with it. Go for it... More

The amusement here is mainly people-watching. Interesting to contrast the antics of the more high-spirited tourists with the haughty dignity of the camels. But also to see one or two camels being ridden expertly and a bit more speedily by the locals. Mention is made of litter but we didn't see it. In fact I got a nice photo of... More

If you are in Jaisalmer, try to visit this place. We had a wonderful time in the desert and saw an amazing view of the sun as its sets in the horizon. Besides camel ride,we enjoyed the folk music and its cuisine. Had a wonderful time with family.

Place should have been Awesome if tourists had been a bit more responsible. You can find beer bottles and beer cans spread all over the dunes. No one has cleaned up this place since ages so people and collectors for ANTIQUE BEER BOTTLES might find this place interesting. We stayed in a nice clean resort nearby which saved our day...... 50-60 kms ahead of Jaisalmer city will lead you to Sam sand dunes.. It is good for the real 'Registan' experience - dunes, camels, tented accommodations and beautiful sunsets.. However be vary of touts promising you a camel ride to the 'Real Thar desert' or view of the 'Ind - Pak border'.. Its all a tourist trap..better book yourself for... More

But beware of the people offering camel / camel cart rides! They start chasing you as soon as you get down from your vehicle and lure you with good offers and once inside the desert Demand bakshis/ higher amount as if it is their right!
