40 kms from Jaisalmer is a small village Sam (Samm). This is the place from where the Sand Dunes Start. There are a number of desert camps available for hire/ booking. You get to live in tents and enjoy the desert cultural program during the night. The camel ride is awesome. The sunset view from the dunes is once in... More

i recently visited this place along with my family. It is one of the most popular destination in Jaisalmer. This place is 46 km away from city and it take normally 1hr to reach here as the highway is very good. There is another tourist destination called Kuldhara Village(the so called HAUNTED place due to its history) which is just... More

Camel safari, sunset, folk music, everything was just awesome & memorable. The natural beauty is really different. It was very disappointing to see that the place is becoming polluted due to irresponsible visitors, who are littering plastic & glass bottles, bear can, plastic packets etc.

It was my first visit to a Desert location and what a moment!!!. The sand Dunes stood in front of me with all Majesty. Not as huge as I dreamt of but the shifting sand below my feet made me feel that I have arrived at my destination. The Camel Safari for approx 3-4 Km's is an experience in itself... More

Thar desert upto Jaisalmer is not a desrt of sand dunes. To see sand sunes, u have to go 40-45 km from Jaisalmer. Sam is one such place. The sand dunes are showcased here. The dunes are not extensive or very large, but still if u r seeing sand dunes for the first time in ur life, then they are... More

Until you reach there, you will have an image that you are going to enjoy wilderness and wild desert and vast sand dunes. When a travel agent tells you that you will be staying in a tent, he doesn't mean it. Sam tourist zone is a dirt, nothing less than a too touristy town. Tents are just a namesake, they... More
