We spent about 2-3 hours hear on our way to Puri from Bhubaneswar. The spot is best visited during the evening hours... I heard that the day time is extremely busy with lots of tourist busses. Do check out the views of the sunset and the adjacent river around evening.
This a must-see temple among the many temples associated with the city of temples. It lies in the pastoral countryside on top of a low hill. There several beautiful statues of Buddha along with a great view of the rice fields.
it is a pagoda with four different idols of lord buddha facing all four directions, its a beautiful and nice place situated on a little height.. have to climb some 20 steps to reach the base it is situated on a hill..then once you reach the base u again have to climb 60 steps which is a bit difficult..
Peaceful at the top of the hill...lovely sculptures, but overcrowded and terribly maintained...people were spitting all over, and the entrance, exits were extremely pathetic...
Rather overrated though it does give a good view of the Bhubaneshwar skyline. The climb to the top is rather difficult and though the monkeys are not aggresive, there is always a bgit of risk involved.

The monument is a heritage site built of white sandstone overlooks the legendary river Daya on the banks of which the bloody war of Kalinga was fought..The road to Dhauli is through lush green fields and is very enjoyable. The magnificent views of the city , river daya and the adjoining plains makes it a very memorable place to visit...
