A buddhist pagoda built on the Dhauli hill to commemorate the great Kalinga war where emperor Ashok changed his thoughts and embraced Buddhism. On other side of the hill is a big Shiva temple. From the top you can see the flowing Daya river. An unique place to both revisit history & spend time in sight seeing.

The Buddhist temple is on the top of a hill....hence reaching there involves climbing a large number of stairs. But the temple built in a stupa style is beautiful and worth all the climbing. There are four idols of Lord Buddha on the four sides of the temple representing different aspects of Buddhism. The temple also provides a view of... More

Holy place, you have to remove your shoes. In summer one must carry socks otherwise very hard to walk on red hot rocks and marbles.

This is one of my favorite places in Bhubaneshwar. It has a strange calmness in its premises. The cold breeze also helps in changing the mood. The architecture is beautiful and stands out. However, things are a little different now as the place has become very commercial and crowded most of the time. What we experienced during younger days are... More

Nice place to relax. You will find the river flowing and seems like a medidation center. You can find this place all the way from the BBSR - Puri road. They charge for the parking fees. There are no other fees to enter the place.

It's more in Bhubaneswar rather though one can go here from Puri also. Dhauli santi stupa is situated on a hill top. It shows the sign of Ashoka's Lion. There nothing much but one visit is must when you are in Puri or Bhubaneswar. The whole stupa is of white color.
