Dhauli giri hills is of great historical significance in Odhissa. Located almost 20 kms from bhubaneshwar town, the hills is a silent abode of history. Ashoka Sthuba and Shiva temple are adjacent to dhauli hills. One can have a view of dhaya river flowing line vein of the hills, which has greater historical significance. One can also have a view... I am sharing this experience with everyone visiting Dhaulagiri. Please DO NOT buy anything from the hawkers selling goods at the foothill of the way leading up to the temple. These hawkers sell goods such as; khus khus, chashew nuts and other dry fruits. Whilst the package looks good from the outside it really is filled with husk! Please I... More

If you live in the area then it is definitely worth visiting this place once as it is interesting to see a Buddhist stupa which has been built by Japanese people, though I am not able to find much information on why Japanese suddenly came here... The Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa) is very recent, so do not expect to see... More

Nothing to compare to other Buddhist temples; a modern structure but the view from the top of the hill where this is located made up for the lack in religious or spiritual significance. Worth seeing as the Edict Rock is here nearby.

It is situated outside of Bhubneshwar on the way to Konark. It's a white coloured Santi Stupa having four Golden lions (2 on each side) on four pillars. Near by to this is green agricultural land.

The hill and the riverbed is the site of the historic Kalinga war and artefacts are still being discovered. That aside, it is a nice ride up the hill and you can also hike down the different trails towards the river bed. If you start in the early afternoon, you can even reach the ancient watchtower over the river. I... More
