I visited Nandankanan after soooo many yyyyy....years just to find it better, brighter and enchanting. Animals are lovely, birds give you imaginary wings and slithering reptiles chill your senses. Just need a water world for an International feel. Botanical gardens are a must see. Great place.

Zoo was good... better then most local zoos in small cities. One need around 3-5 hours to roam around. Wild safari was not something i was expecting. far below expectations. reptile park was awesome & made money spent worth.

Nandankanan zoo is a good place to spend a holiday. The space is huge and it takes on an average 2-3 hours of time to go around. There are guides near the ticket counters who will surely convince anyone to take their services but that's not necessary. If you take a guide he can help you with the directions fast... More

its an extremely large zoo, however we stuck only to the safari rides-50 bucks for 3 safari rides (white/yellow tiger, bear and deer). You can get done that way in about an hour or dedicate the whole day to seeing other animals around.Overall well maintained. Its about 150 bucks from the city to the zoo

In my opinion it's my best zoo visit in India! We hired a guide (Mr.Pratap Parida) recommended by a gentleman here on trip advisor. He was an amazing guy!The safaris are a must see...we were rewarded with roadside viewing of the white tiger as well as the lion and lioness! What better?!One has the option of hiring an entire bus for Rs.2500/- as... Experience was really amazing. Its a big zoo must say covering large area. Best part was the bus safari where one can see lions, tigers, wild bears and deers roaming around near you.. Without cage. But beware of the monkeys if you have eatables with you in ur hands. They can snatch foods

we took a guide-cost rs 250. it was worth it. he called the animals by name and made them do some trick. we hired battery vehicle- Rs750.can take maximum 8 people.it is useful if you have elderly people in your group. he finally drops you near the safari starting point. when we went the bus was not getting filled up.... Once renowned zoo for its white tigers the present condition of the Zoo is pathetic. We just roamed around the place and left as early as we can. The only restaurant inside offered lousy food.

Plenty if tigers in the zoo, enclosure after enclosure, we could see tigers. Giraffe, Lion, Lioness, White tiger, Rhino, Hippo, etc. were all there in the zoo.
