This is indeed a unique zoo. Part of the natural forest adjacent to Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary, Nandankanan lies in the vicinity of Kanjia lake. This zoo is known for its White Tiger. Said to be the host zoo for white tigers in India, it was a wonderful experience when we could see a four of them enjoying the winter sunshine... More

Enjoyed tiger lion and bear safari but that bus was travelling very fast breaking the silence of the forest. Open space for Elephant was also good.

It has been so long ago, I visited Nandankanan Zoo. That too accidentally. This was the first zoo I went to and it is last as of now. You can find Cheetahs, Rhinoceros, Pythons and what not. It takes nearly 2 hours to cover most part of the Zoo. Carry water bottle :)

A great zoo, quite unexpected positive surprise. Lions, tigers and all other animals seem to get good treatment and have enough space. Although there were many visitors, the zoo is large and it was not crowded. Do not miss the botanical garden nearby

We were a group of 5, about 5 hours free in Bhubaneswar, decided to go to the Zoo. Entry fee Rs 20/- per person, quite a good crowd for a weekday. Decently maintained as per Indian standards

Liked : Plenty of creatures to see. Disliked : It was a pathetic site to see the bears struggling to get a few drops of water from a water pipe which was dry to quench thirst

Not very satisfying as the number of animals have become much less than before. This is famed to be a place where wild animals are free to roam yet in actuality it was not so or even if it was we did not quite understand. The bus rides in protected vehicles built up an expectation that the ride could not... More
