On the way back from the field, the car stopped and suddenly before I really understood what was happening we were visiting a temple was one of the 12 lingam (phalics). Rapidfire Hindu mythology updates as I walked towards the temple from my colleagues partially prepared me. A wonderful alternate universe to our fieldwork. Everybody allowed to visit. Men/boys be... Easy access, temple is open through the day, u can offer a abhishek puja in the temple, y paying the fee right at the temple entrance. Avoid special occasions for a peaceful and relaxed darshan. Male devotees need to enter bare upper body for offering the puja.

During our trip to Aurangbad and Verul (Ellora) we visited Grishneshwar temple. By chance it was Monday. It was a nice Darshan. Temple premises were quite organised were kept clean. We left temple feeling blessed.

This is another of the jyotirlingas. The temple needs a lot of upkeep and cleaning. If you are interested to buy rudraksha get it from the counter inside the temple, the ones outside are mostly fake.

We all went for the Jyotrinlinga temple for darshan. Unlike, temples of south, people were allowed to enter the grabhagriha and were allowed to touch the idol. The place inside the grabha griha was nasty. Temple has to be maintained well in terms of divine aspects.

The Grineswar is one among the Jyotirlinga temples in Maharastra, It is close to the Ellora caves and Aurangabad. The architecture is a must see in this temple and the temple pond which is located 500 mts before the temple is a good step well kindda.

Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga is situated right beside the Verul Caves, is one of the jyotirlingas situated in Aurangabad District. Please remember that mobile phones and cameras are not allowed inside the temple, you can either leave it in your car or take a locker for hire.
